　　Matisyahu原名Matthew Paul Miller(马修保罗米勒)(生于1979年6月30日)，他希伯莱的名字是Matisyahu。 这成长於纽约的青年，尽管信奉的是犹太教，经常戴着黑帽且蓄着一脸落腮的长胡，他却在雷鬼乐歌谣传统中觅得信仰的真谛。因此他成了世上极少数(若不是唯一)以典型犹太人模样及身分演唱雷鬼乐的歌手。这样说来，难免有哗众取宠之嫌，可他并未将这简直是行销利器的特色大作文章而失之浅薄，更多时候他像是背负着使命的传教士，透过音乐将讯息传递出去。因而更难想像他年少时竟是不愿从父母之意上希伯来课程，脚汲拖鞋过着嬉皮生活。《Youth》是叛逆的犹太青年Matisyahu(原名叫Matthew Miller)在大公司发行的第一张专辑。Matisyahu曾在2004年和2005年分别发行首张专辑《Shake Off the Dust...Arise》和一张现场专辑《Live at Stubb's》，但都没得到媒体和歌迷过多地关注，而随着这张《Youth》的出炉，之前一直默默无闻的Matisyahu一夜之间便创造了历史。《Youth》在发行后第一周的销量达到11万9千张，创纪录的成为从1991年Nielsen SoundScan专辑销量统计系统诞生以来发行首周销量最高的雷鬼乐专辑。这一成绩超过了此前进入过Billboard 200专辑榜前十的西恩·保罗(Sean Paul)，Snow，Shaggy，UB40组合，达米安·马莱(Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley)以及大名鼎鼎的鲍勃·马莱(Bob Marley)等其他雷鬼艺人，而以前的纪录由Sean Paul去年的专辑《The Trinity》创造
